Another cute book!  Seems like I say that about all the books, but this one is precious and it rhymes!  It was created to be part of a  Spring Workshop that I will present this week.  The text format of this book follows the same sentence pattern as in the sample page above except for the first and last page.   New vocabulary is supported by picture cues. The book is created in a full page, portrait format  with expanded text for easier reading.  Sight words used are: he, at, a, me, even, there, was, little, yellow, once, who, very.  All text is at the bottom of the page.  The pages are not numbered.  (10 pages)

I also created Pocketchart Picture Cards for this book.  It has all the pictures from the book already formatted in the size to fit in your pocketchart.  Just copy the pictures onto cardstock, color, laminate, and cut apart and you're ready to go.  The pocketchart pictures are definite timesavers!

This book was written as part of The Strawberry Patch unit at The Virtual Vine.  It introduces the reader to some simple facts about the strawberry.  It would be a great addition to a Strawberry or Spring Unit.  Most of the text follows the sentence frame:  A strawberry ... .  The pages are not numbered and all text is supported by picture cues.  

The book was created in a full page, portrait format.  It was designed as a strawberry "shape book" to be bound at the top, therefore the pages will flip up.  It was also designed for the front and back cover to be reproduced on red construction paper and the student would color the leaves green.  A "realistic" back cover is provided as well, so when the book is viewed from the back, it looks like the back side of the strawberry.  The students cut out each page and color the pictures.

All text is in the middle of the of the pages and is written in an easy to read, expanded format.  The sight words used are: I, a, eat, is, red, like, on, has, to .

This book was written to be part of a Spring Unit.  It introduces the reader to some simple signs of spring as well as reinforces number and color words.  It's more like a 5 line poem put in an emergent reader format.  The text is not repetitive, but each page does follow the format of the page above.  All text is supported by picture cues and the student would color the pictures to match the text.

This book was written to be part of a unit for The Tales of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter.  It is built around the story of how Peter goes into Mr. McGregor's garden and eats his vegetables.  This book is different from the ones that I normally write as the reader must first cut and paste the days of the week in order into the gray box in each sentence.  Then after the reader is fluent in reading the book, there are two different Comprehension Check formats that may be used.   The text is repetitive on most pages using the sentence frame above.  All text is supported by picture cues. 

The book was created in a full page, portrait format.  All text is at the bottom of the pages and is written in an easy to read, expanded format.  The pages are not numbered, but the text is sequential, encouraging practice of the sequential order of the days of the week beginning with Sunday  The sight words used are: days of the week, to, going, on, he, ate, a, more.  (12 pages)
