Packing For A Picnic
I created this book to use
in a Picnic Unit that I'm going to create for The Virtual Vine and to use with
my students. All of the pages follow the sentence frame that you see in the sample page
above (or one very similar) except for the first and last pages. The
last page of the book lends itself to a great discussion or writing/drawing
assignment. The book is created in a full page,
portrait format with expanded text for easier reading. Sight words
used are: a, we, do, need, some, where, now, go, to, on, want.
All text is at
the bottom of the page. The pages are not numbered so that you can arrange
them as you please. (10 pages)
*NOTE: I'm having some
issues with my scanner. The blanket on the cover is actually completely
filled in, unlike what you see in the picture here.*
I've also created
Pocketchart Picture Cards for this book. It has all the pictures from the book
already formatted in the size to fit in your pocketchart. Just copy the
pictures onto cardstock, color, laminate, and cut apart and you're ready to go.

Some people would say how
can you have a picnic without watermelons and ants? :) So don't forget to
check out the Watermelon books. The
Watermelon Shape Book also comes with an ant pattern for your students to make.
