This book was created to reinforce position words.  It covers the positions: under, over, behind, between, beside, on, and in.  It also uses a predictable sentence frame through out the book.  Most text is at the bottom of each page.  All text is written in an easy to read, expanded format.  The book was designed using a full page, portrait format.  Sight words used: where, is , my, I, find, him, he, the, we, her, that, no.  The pages are not numbered, so you can assemble them any in order that you please. 

The book comes in two versions.  One version is the one that you see above, the other version is a "fill in the blank" format.  In that format, the position word has been deleted from each sentence and the students write the position word in the blank.  An additional page has been added to this version containing a Word Bank to assist the students in completing the sentences.  (9 - 10 pages)

This activity pack contains 3 activities to coordinate with the three bears story.    The first activity reinforces knowledge of CHARACTERS in a story.  Students sort characters from the story onto the activity mat.  The second activity is for SEQUENCING and can be used in small group or stations/centers.  It has 5 pictures to be sequenced onto the mat to form the story.  If 5 pictures are too many for your students, then 1 or 2 of the pictures can be glued onto the mat in the correct place before laminating and students will then sequence the remaining pictures.  The third activity is an independent, student cut and paste follow-up activity for the sequencing activity.  For best results, print mats and picture cards onto cardstock, laminate and cut out.   (6  pages)
